Penn State Berks engineering course partners with Berks LaunchBox

“It’s great to be able to expose the students to the space and the resources that the LaunchBox has to offer,” said Associate Teaching Professor of Engineering Marietta Scanlon. “Being able to work with the Berks LaunchBox has added another dimension to the course and extends the Berks campus to the city of Reading, providing our engineering students with even more opportunities.”

Donor makes gift to create the Brand Academy, honoring Wally Triplett

An anonymous donor has pledged a gift of $2.5 million to create the Wally Triplett Brand Academy Endowment. A joint project of Intercollegiate Athletics and Invent Penn State, the planned Brand Academy will help student-athletes and others with brand-driven businesses to manage and monetize their personal brand and support their entrepreneurial interests.

Penn State alumnus Hunter Swisher, founder and CEO of Phospholutions, was named a 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30 in the social impact category. The category is described as those who are “leveraging business smarts to save the world.”

Invent Penn State LaunchBox and Innovation Network supports startups across Pa.

Invent Penn State’s LaunchBox and Innovation Network has provided a wide array of no-cost entrepreneurial resources to innovators across the state for the past six years. With 96% of Pennsylvanians having a LaunchBox or innovation space within 30 miles of where they live or work, the Network is helping to address the need for entrepreneurial resources in more rural regions.

President Bendapudi talks innovation and education at Penn State Lehigh Valley

The evening was set to focus on entrepreneurship and the future of education — but Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi’s energy and charisma definitely doubled as the takeaway from the Penn State Lehigh Valley LaunchBox Ladies Ambassador Circle event on Nov. 16. It was the second time the new president visited the Lehigh Valley campus but the first opportunity most in the audience had to hear her speak.
