Former NFL player and alumnus Garry Gilliam on new episode of ‘Dare to Disrupt’
In the latest episode of Invent Penn State’s “Dare to Disrupt” podcast, host Ryan Newman interviews Garry Gilliam, former Nittany Lion football standout, NFL player, and founder and CEO of The Bridge Eco-Village. Gilliam graduated from Penn State in 2013 with degrees in business development, psychology and advertising.
Startup Week to kick off with free food giveaway on March 20
The Rolling Lion food truck will be giving away free loaded nachos and beverages courtesy of Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 20. The truck will be parked behind Carnegie Building across from Willard Building on the University Park campus.
First day of Startup Week to kick off a week of interactive events and activities
Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC will now feature uniquely themed days with entrepreneurial speakers, interactive events, and late-night activities throughout the week. The first day, Monday, March 20, will be Kickoff Day.

Governor proposes 7.1% increase for Penn State’s 2023-24 general support funding
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro proposed a 7.1% funding increase for Penn State’s 2023-24 general support appropriation and for Pennsylvania College of Technology, and a 2% funding increase for Penn State Agricultural Research and Cooperative Extension, during his first budget address as governor, which was delivered March 7 during a joint session of the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
