NCPA LaunchBox celebrates a year of innovation and industry growth
The North Central Pennsylvania (NCPA) LaunchBox powered by Penn State DuBois marked a year of significant achievements in 2023-24 by fostering regional industry growth and workforce development. A key highlight of the year was the LaunchBox’s pivotal role in the North Central Pressed Materials Strategy Development Consortium, an initiative aimed at advancing the pressed material industry in central Pennsylvania.

From a behind-the-scenes look at the operations of River Raptor Jet Boats in Belleville to a Community Networking Event at the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub in downtown State College, there will be opportunities for entrepreneurs from various regions to get involved.

Pa. students the focus of Penn State’s $40M request for increased state support
As an incremental step toward raising Penn State’s per-student state funding to match Pennsylvania’s other public universities, Penn State leaders are requesting a $30 million increase in the University’s 2025-26 general support appropriation — part of a total $40.1 million requested increase in state funding.

Q&A: Student success in Penn State’s entrepreneurial environment
Ryan Jai Hokimi, a senior studying computer science, recently co-founded a startup that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to automate the sales tax refund process for businesses and tax firms. At the Penn State Board of Trustees meeting today (Sept. 6), Jai Hokimi will talk about his entrepreneurial success as a student — for which he gives much credit to the University’s resources, programs and networks.
