Hazleton LaunchBox collaborates to launch student-created food startup
With the help of the Hazleton LaunchBox supported by Pasco L. Schiavo, Esq., Immanuel Christian School students launched a food startup that will fund future scholarships at the school for children in need.
Berks LaunchBox earns $125K grant from County of Berks for small business funds
The Berks LaunchBox powered by Penn State recently received a $125,000 grant from the County of Berks. The funding will be used to create microgrants for Berks County entrepreneurs. Of the total grant awarded, $12,000 will be set aside for Penn State Berks student entrepreneurs participating in the college’s Flemming Creativity, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Center Customer Discovery Lab, which will be distributed to awardees in $1,000 increments.

Startup Week powered by PNC to take place March 18–22
From March 18 to 22, Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC invites students from across the commonwealth to explore Penn State’s vast entrepreneurial ecosystem, learn from successful Penn State alumni, and connect with innovative peers through free, fun hands-on activities. Students are encouraged to attend speaker sessions, workshops and pitch competitions, either in person or virtually.

Young entrepreneurs benefit from programming through Penn State Wilkes-Barre

Researcher works to lower cost of hydrogen production
Penn State doctoral candidate Arash Emdadi and his lab mates are working to improve the hydrogen production method to make it more cost effective and environmentally friendly. Emdadi recently took the concept through the Invent Penn State regional NSF I-Corps short course program, which helps researchers gain valuable insight into entrepreneurship and develop valuable skills in connecting with customers.
