Prototyping and fabrication space OriginLabs hosts ribbon-cutting ceremony
Invent Penn State’s all-new rapid prototyping and fabrication space, OriginLabs, had its official opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 22. Penn State Senior Vice President for Research, Lora Weiss, enabled a robotic arm to cut the ribbon at the ceremony, marking the official opening of the space to the public.
‘RU Curious?’ community engagement series with Schlow Library to return April 4
“RU Curious?” is a community engagement series offered by Schlow Centre Region Library in partnership with Penn State’s Office of Government and Community Relations that invites the local community to learn more about important research topics happening at Penn State. The series kicks off April 4 at the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub in downtown State College.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre supports entrepreneurship through Startup Week
Penn State Wilkes-Barre participated in the University’s Startup Week held this year from March 20-24. Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC is a University-wide event held each spring that brings leading minds in entrepreneurship and innovation together in and around Penn State campuses across the commonwealth.
5 student startups win funding in Inc.U Competition
Student startup Bindr, a dating app that provides a safe space online for bisexual individuals, won $15,000, the largest prize amount, in the 2023 Invent Penn State Inc.U Competition. The competition, part of Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC, saw six Penn State student teams pitch their startups to a panel of judges and compete for up to $30,000 in funding.
Rapid prototyping and fabrication space OriginLabs to open during Startup Week
Invent Penn State’s all-new rapid prototyping and fabrication space, OriginLabs, is set to officially open its doors to the public on Wednesday, March 22, during Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC.
Fifth day of Startup Week themed ‘Explore PA Entrepreneurship’
The fifth day of Startup Week, Friday, March 24, is themed “Explore PA Entrepreneurship” and will feature events such as a trip to learn about natural resource-based entrepreneurship and a student entrepreneur marketplace.
Fourth day of Startup Week themed ‘Female Entrepreneurs of Color’
The fourth day of Startup Week, Thursday, March 23, is themed “Female Entrepreneurs of Color” and will include events such as a talk about learning to trust oneself throughout entrepreneurship, and an after-hours concert.
Third day of Startup Week themed ‘Social Impact’
The third day of Startup Week powered by PNC, Wednesday, March 22, is themed Social Impact, and will include events such as creating your own upcycled fashion brand and a talk with a former professional football player on his path to activism.
