New app aims to help bring community to underrepresented students
Penn State students now have an easier way to connect with campus organizations that match their backgrounds and interests through a new app designed by a team of students, Vybrnt, which was launched to help students from underrepresented backgrounds to build community on campus.

Behrend lab designs product that blocks pests from nesting on propane tanks
Ron Forbes invented a rubber insert that blocks birds from nesting in the cover of a propane tank. Students in Penn State Behrend’s Innovation Commons helped him design it.

Webinar planned to help holiday shoppers, business owners navigate pandemic

PNC Foundation gifts Penn State and Penn State Health $2 million
Penn State and Penn State Health joined with the PNC Foundation to announce a $2 million grant that will support programming to cultivate wellness and foster economic innovation in communities across the south-central Pennsylvania region and beyond.

$1.5 million grant to expand Behrend lab and Innovation Beehive Network
The Appalachian Regional Commission has awarded $1.5 million to the Northwest Pennsylvania Innovation Beehive Network, which includes Penn State Behrend’s Innovation Commons. The Beehive sites provide entrepreneurial support and business guidance to companies and inventors in 17 counties.
