How Express Licensing Works

What is Express Licensing?

Express Licensing makes use of standardized license agreements with fixed terms to speed up the licensing process of some of our technologies. Similar to the End User License Agreements that are usually baked into installing licensed and proprietary software, Express License Agreements are take-it-or-leave-it propositions. Cutting down on negotiation and legal review makes licensing one of our Express Licensing technologies much more time-efficient. Plus, it is as simple as filling out an online form.

How does Express Licensing work?

1. Click “License Now” and fill out the form. Indicate that you would like to receive an invoice alongside the license agreement for faster service.
2. If we receive your request on a work day, we will email you a prefilled, ready-to-sign license agreement (and the invoice if applicable) within 24 hours.
3. You sign and send back the license agreement at your convenience. We will get it signed on our side and email back a copy. (Note: this process might take a few days but is independent of and running parallel to fulfillment of your order).
4. Our office will be in touch with fulfillment steps as soon as we receive your payment. How long does the whole process take? We will strive to provide you with a ready-to-sign license agreement within within one business day from receiving your request. As soon as we receive your cleared payment, we will take the necessary steps to fulfill your order and give you access to the technology or material. Regular bank processing times apply.

What if I do not like the terms of the Express License?

If you are still interested in one of our technologies that has an Express License associated with it but the rights conveyed do not fit your needs, please get in touch with the Office of Technology Management Contact. We will be happy to tailor a license agreement to your individual needs. Please be aware, that the Express License and its terms are offered on a take-it-or-leave-it basis and will not be amended or in any way incorporated into an individual license with terms that exceed the scope of the Express License.
